Shalva Papuashvili - Mr. Peter does not mention my position and only refers to me by my last name - It seems that after the 2024 elections, along with the chairmanship of the parliament, he does not even recognize my increasing age

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili is echoing the interview given to InterpressNews by German Ambassador to Georgia Peter Fischer on social media, in which the ambassador discusses Papuashvili's age and "German payroll."

As Papuashvili writes, "national interests should be above personal life and, especially, personal grievances."

“By the way, I turned 50 a couple of weeks ago. It is noteworthy that in his extensive interview, Mr. Peter never mentions my position and only refers to me by my last name. It seems that after the 2024 elections, along with the chairmanship of the parliament, he does not even recognize my age increase, and these 2 lost years should be attributed to this. National interests should be above personal life and, especially, personal grievances. The fact that Mr. Peter destroyed a 30-year exemplary partnership in 3 years is a sign of his inability to understand this simple truth. This too shall pass,” Papuashvili wrote on the social network.

For information, according to Peter Fischer, Shalva Papuashvili is 48 years old, of which he spent 21 years on German payroll. According to him, he spent 17 years with GIZ, which is the technical implementation agency of German development cooperation. And overwhelmingly, GIZ development projects in Georgia are financed by the German Federal Government.
