Today, February 18, two interpellations will take place at the plenary session of Parliament.
In the interpellation format, the “Georgian Dream” faction invited Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, while the “For Georgia” faction invited Minister of Regional Development Kakhaber Gulordava.
“Georgian Dream” addressed the Prime Minister on issues related to migration. Irakli Kobakhidze must answer the following questions:
- How many citizens of foreign countries live in Georgia;
- What is the proportion of foreigners living in Georgia by country of citizenship;
- What is the proportion of foreigners living in Georgia by the basis of stay and type of activity in Georgia;
- Has an assessment been made of how many citizens of foreign countries are in Georgia illegally;
- What measures is the government taking to combat illegal migration;
- What migratory impact might the large-scale projects announced in the real estate sector in recent times have, and to what extent does the “Migration Strategy of Georgia for 2021–2030,” approved by the Government of Georgia in 2020, respond to the existing challenges.
As for the interpellation requested by the “For Georgia” faction, they summoned Minister of Regional Development Kakhaber Gulordava to Parliament to receive answers to 25 questions. Among other things, the questions concern:
- the results of the reorganization carried out in 2025, the separation of the regional development direction from the Ministry of Infrastructure and its establishment as a separate agency;
- the village support program;
- problems related to highland regions;
- regional programs and projects.
After the completion of the interpellation procedure, the Rules of Procedure provide for debates, during which members of Parliament will speak.
