Levan Davitashvili: I often have to make visits due to work, I had a planned visit now as well, I will return at the end of the week

Former Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili explains why he is not in Georgia.

According to him, he had a planned visit and will return at the end of the week.

Davitashvili also stated that he is abroad on a business visit.

“I often have to make visits due to work. Almost every week, and now I had a planned visit as well. I will return at the end of the week, and next week I have to leave again… This is the real information,” - stated Davitashvili, whose comment is disseminated by BMG.

For information: Davitashvili was questioned yesterday at the State Security Service.

After the questioning, Levan Davitashvili stated that “the meeting concerned Georgia’s participation in Europe’s gas supply and the risks associated with it.”

Later, the SSG clarified that Davitashvili was questioned at the Anti-Corruption Agency in connection with a specific criminal case, and not at a meeting where these issues were discussed. The agency also stated that the question regarding risks during the questioning concerned the deterioration of conditions for Georgia under the signed agreements on gas supply to Georgia, which is under investigation, and not the EU’s gas supply.
