Giorgi Bachiashvili admitted to the crime he committed, cooperated with the investigation, compensated for the damage, and the rest was, of course, the job of law enforcement agencies. Accordingly, it was confirmed that these speculations [related to Bachiashvili’s political imprisonment] had no basis whatsoever, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to Kobakhidze, when specific types of crimes were committed, the opposition tried its best to politicize the cases, and “we remember many such cases.”
"There were criminal cases that were not at all connected with politics, although they managed to speculate. All this was once again confirmed by the events that developed in this example. Giorgi Bachiashvili admitted to the crime he committed, cooperated with the investigation, compensated for the damage, and the rest was, naturally, the business of law enforcement agencies. Accordingly, it was confirmed that these speculations had no basis and the radical opposition once again showed its face," Kobakhidze said.
