Irakli Kobakhidze - It is incredible that the Estonian Embassy is trying to politicize the education reform and follows the agenda of the radical opposition

It is unthinkable when a specific embassy, in this case the Estonian Embassy, tries to politicize the education reform and follows the agenda of the radical opposition, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said, responding to a post published by the Estonian Embassy in Georgia on social networks.

According to the Prime Minister, politicizing the education reform is not right.

“We all agree that the quality of higher education in Georgia is not adequate, and in this regard, we have a similar situation at Ilia University, as well as at other universities, including TSU, Technical University and other universities, public and private ones. We want to improve this situation, and when the Estonian Embassy tries to politicize this process, it is both incomprehensible and wrong. This is another cheap attempt to politicize something that cannot have political content at all,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.

For information, the Estonian Embassy in Georgia posted a photo of Ambassador Marge Mardisalu-Kaharma with the rector of Ilia State University on social media, with the caption: “We stand by Ilia State University.”
