The demand for workforce with higher education in the public and private sectors for employment amounts to a total of 64,095.

This was stated by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a presentation of labor market research, which was also attended by university lecturers.

As he noted, the highest demand on the labor market is for secondary school teachers and sales and marketing managers.

“We studied the growth in demand for employees over a 5-year perspective and the number of people who need higher education to enter the labor market. This figure amounts to 64,095. Of these, the need for 42,316 graduates is in the private sector, while 21,779 is in the public sector. This also includes the expected replacement rate among them.

As for the demand for higher education needs by professional groups, the leading professions are as follows: secondary school teachers - 6,149; sales and marketing managers - 4,761; nursing assistant specialists - 2,781; specialist doctors - 2,701; construction managers - 1,710; programmers - 1,691; vocational education teachers - 1,655; construction supervisors - 1,299; electricians - 1,124; supply and distribution managers - 1,008. In other words, the research determined that the greatest demand on the labor market is for these specific professions,” - stated Kobakhidze.
