"What significance does a lying report have for us?! - What should I do now, should I go ahead and start a war with the Russian Federation just so that Juknevičienė doesn't write some nonsense in the resolution later?! We will not do that!" - this was stated by "Georgian Dream" MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili while commenting on the draft report on Georgia by the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
According to him, the report has no value whatsoever.
"Let them adopt the resolution - how many is that already?! The 107th, right?! We will no longer pay any attention to it, because there isn't even a trace of truth there; people there are directly planning to spread lying narratives. They once adopted a resolution saying 'urgently transfer Mikheil Saakashvili to the hospital,' when he had already been transferred 4 months earlier. That's the kind of people they are. They made the whole world believe that Saakashvili supposedly needed to be transferred from prison to the hospital, they wrote it in the resolution 'transfer him,' and in reality, he had been transferred several months prior. How can we take this seriously?! We won't!
The report has no value whatsoever. What significance does a lying report have for us?! When I know from the start that there won't be even a sign of objectivity there, why should I be interested in it from that perspective?! What should I do now, should I go ahead and start a war with the Russian Federation just so that Juknevičienė doesn't write some nonsense in the resolution later?! We will not do that!" - stated Sharmanashvili.
For information: On February 25, the report on Georgia will be presented in the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee. The report will be presented by the European Parliament's permanent rapporteur on Georgia, Rasa Juknevičienė. According to the draft, the report reflects the fact that "democratic backsliding in Georgia has intensified even further." The draft report notes that "Georgian Dream continues a systematic campaign against the European Union, official representatives, and diplomats."
