Nika Gvaramia – The merger of the sanctioned Imedi and POSTV with Rustavi2 is being considered

The merger of the sanctioned Imedi and POSTV with Rustavi2 is being considered, - Nika Gvaramia, the leader of the Coalition for Change, writes on social networks.

According to Gvaramia, the broadcast of the aforementioned sanctioned TV companies via international - satellite or Internet - platforms will be stopped. Also, according to him, they will no longer be on cable TVs, and neither the Georgian digital broadcaster will be able to broadcast them.

"All licensed shows and series on Imedi and POSTV will be closed, which practically means the closure of these media.

Their pages on FB will be closed.

No bank will be able to serve any TV.

The ratings counter created by Imedi will be closed, as it is losing its British license, and accordingly, they will no longer be able to legally sell advertising. Nor will they be able to falsify ratings.

Advertising, not only by international brands, but also by international affiliate companies, will either immediately face the most severe consequences for them, or face the most severe potential risks.

Broadcasting via international (satellite or Internet) platforms will be stopped.

The departure of Rukhadze and others from the positions of founders and managers will in no way fulfill the function of "purification". Consider that they will not be able to pass the KYC check of any bank for the rest of their lives - not only will they not be able to take out loans, nor will any legal entities where any of them appear in any form, but their active accounts may also be closed and their cards canceled.

The merger of the sanctioned with R2 is being considered (which I congratulate the latter on), which is actually the cancellation of R2 (like the merger of GTU and TSU). Why do they think that R2 will be unsanctioned for a long time, I can't tell you. R2 and its founders have everything ahead of them. Now we will see them running away (like Rukhadze), "- writes Nika Gvaramia.
