Law enforcement officers have detained a parent on charges of trafficking a minor. According to information disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accused forced their minor child, through psychological pressure and threats of physical violence, to beg in various districts of Tbilisi, while fully appropriating the money received.

"Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained M.S., born in 1981, on charges of trafficking. The investigation conducted by law enforcement officers into this criminal case, including covert audio and video recordings carried out on the basis of a judge's ruling, establishes that the accused forced their minor child, through psychological pressure and threats of physical violence, to beg in various districts of Tbilisi, while fully appropriating the money received. As a result of investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, M.S. has been detained as the accused. The investigation is ongoing under Article 143, Parts 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for up to 17 years," — the information states.
