Nino Tsilosani: The situation in the Middle East is extremely grave - whether Iran or Israel, we express condolences wherever peaceful civilians have died

The situation in the Middle East is extremely grave — whether Iran or Israel, we express condolences wherever peaceful civilians have died, — this was stated by the Vice-Speaker of Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, while commenting on the developments in the Middle East.

According to her, all involved states are urged to maximize the use of diplomatic means.

"The situation in the Middle East is extremely grave. The incredible turmoil unfolding in the region causes great concern. Whether Iran or Israel, we express condolences wherever peaceful civilians have died. There are also significant losses in infrastructure. The scale of military intervention is incredibly large. Of course, we support the de-escalation of this situation through diplomatic channels, because war and military confrontation are not a solution. We call on all involved states to maximize the use of diplomatic means," — stated Tsilosani.

In response to a question regarding the Georgian government's statement, Tsilosani said she joins this expression of condolences.

"You know that the government has expressed condolences to all countries involved in this military escalation process, to all those killed there — both state officials and peaceful civilians. Of course, I join this expression of condolences," — stated Tsilosani.

When asked, "If the U.S. kills a killer, is that a basis for condolences?", Tsilosani replied that in the legislation of every country, the killing of a killer is not something to be welcomed.

"You don't even know the simple principle of how human rights and democracy work. The killing of a killer is a specific legal definition. I will not expand to a larger scale. In the legislation of every country, the killing of a killer is not something to be welcomed.

Regarding condolences, see the government's statement, where condolences have been expressed for all the gravest facts," — stated Nino Tsilosani.
