U.S. State Department: We will continue engagement with the Government of Georgia on issues that affect our relations - we will consider steps that need to be taken to demonstrate serious commitment to progress

“We will continue engagement with the Government of Georgia on issues that affect our bilateral relations and the political climate in Georgia — we will also consider specific steps that the Government of Georgia could take to strengthen relations between our countries and to demonstrate serious commitment to progress,” — this was stated to the TV company “Formula” by the U.S. State Department.

As reported by “Formula,” the media organization wrote to the State Department before the “Georgian Dream” delegation’s visit to the U.S., but received the response after the visit.

“The United States has been the partner of choice for Georgia and the Georgian people for 33 years. We remain steadfast supporters of Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The United States strives for constructive relations with Georgia.

The peace agreement that President Trump mediated between Armenia and Azerbaijan offers transformative opportunities for the entire South Caucasus. Georgia can both contribute to and greatly benefit from the stability and prosperity that this agreement makes possible.

We will continue engagement with the Government of Georgia on issues that affect our bilateral relations and the political climate in Georgia. We will also consider specific steps that the Government of Georgia could take to strengthen relations between our countries and to demonstrate serious commitment to progress,” — noted the State Department.

For information: A parliamentary delegation from “Georgian Dream” was on a visit to the United States. They attended an event planned in Washington on March 4-5.
