The creation of the [opposition] alliance is indeed a new stage of the struggle, and in the event of success, victory seems absolutely concrete and realistic, - the imprisoned leader of Droa Elene Khoshtaria says in a message read at the meeting of the Opposition Alliance.

According to Khoshtaria, the most important thing in the alliance's statement is not just a declaration of unity, but also taking responsibility for the strategy of the struggle.

“The first and, in my opinion, the most important thing in the alliance’s statement is not just a declaration of unity, but also taking responsibility for the strategy of the struggle, and therefore, for the path to victory. In essence, this is what makes this agreement different and this is the basis for much more than mutual sympathy and a promise of unity decorated with festive cakes. The vision of action and the rules of conduct - both are specific and measurable and represent a powerful tool for accountability to society. In politics, in the democratic process, accountability is a much more effective tool than sympathy and trust.

Accordingly, to one of the main questions that probably arises for many - why should we trust? - The answer is: do not trust, demand! Here I would like to make a small clarification regarding trust in politics, because clarity between society and politicians regarding the rules of relations is important. In my personal opinion, trust is the most “solid currency” both in private relationships between people and in politics. Over time, it will leave behind many other resources, including very attractive resources in the short term. At the same time, trust will never be the only determining tool of political relations. Unfortunately, this is extremely dangerous. It is necessary to insure these relations with more specific, measurable instruments. That is why a lot of thought has been given to insurance mechanisms in the relationship between the state and the person, such as: control, verification and accountability. The world would be completely different if trust were a sufficient resource when choosing a person for government. Accordingly, this alliance provides an important instrument of control and accountability, which distinguishes it from many other unity. So, what does this stage of the existential crisis require of us and what will be the prerequisite for victory? In describing the current situation, I would like to share with you a few assessments very briefly:

Our almost 500-day struggle has not yet brought us victory, although it has allowed us to achieve the most important goal. The Dream, despite its great efforts and its own losses, could not stop the fight.

Despite our damage, the fight continues and the Dream is being damaged even more. Today it is weaker than it was at the beginning of the fight. More aggressive and, accordingly, weaker.

Thus, the creation of the alliance is truly a new stage of the fight, and in the event of success, victory looks absolutely concrete and realistic. An alliance for victory - not beautiful, desired words, but a well-thought-out plan," Khoshtaria states.
