Levan Natroshvili at the meeting with the OSCE parliamentary delegation - They are interested in what is happening in the country in terms of democracy, human rights, as well as the situation in the civil sector

It was a pretty good meeting, constructive - they are interested in what is happening in the country in terms of democracy and human rights and the situation in our sector - the civil sector, - this is how the head of ISFED, Levan Natroshvili, assesses the meeting between the OSCE parliamentary delegation and the non-governmental sector.

According to Natroshvili, the discussion at the meeting also touched on the legislative changes that the parliament has adopted in recent years.

“They are interested in what is happening in the country in terms of democracy, human rights and the situation in our sector - the civil sector. We mainly had a discussion about this. We, of course, shared information that we have, which we have been talking about for a long time. It was a pretty good meeting, constructive.

Obviously, we also talked about the laws that have been adopted recently. Among them, we touched on the issue of legislative amendments, which were last introduced last week.

Our attitude is that, unfortunately, the steps that are being taken by the Georgian Dream are harming the interests of this country. You can see that the restrictions that have been imposed in recent years are increasing and increasing over time. In fact, they are suffocating democracy even more in this country. We talked about this, specifically what problems there are with various groups. Also, how such repressive legislation, their implementation, limits this civil space that should exist in any democratic country. We also talked about what can be done to fix this," said Levan Natroshvili.
