David Matikashvili on the debates in the European Parliament: Non-professional, ignorant people are speaking about what is happening in Georgia - what else can society hear from Ms. Rasa, who is madly in love with Saakashvili

Absolutely non-professional, ignorant, uninformed people are speaking about what is happening in Georgia - this is nothing more than an attack against Georgia and the Georgian people, and nothing else, - stated David Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliament's Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, in response to the debates on Georgia held in the European Parliament.

According to him, in reality, this was a "fabricated and concocted" attack on the Georgian people, which our country has heard again, and there is nothing new in this.

Matikashvili noted that sane voices were also heard during the debates, "which are sounding louder and louder in the European Parliament."

"In reality, the interest - or rather lack thereof - in that shameful resolution text was clearly demonstrated by the empty hall where absolutely no one was present. Only 2 or 3 deputies attended that session. In reality, this was a fabricated and concocted attack on the Georgian people, which our country has heard once again. There is nothing new in this.

We remember the modeled chronicle that society saw in the captured 'Imedi' broadcast at the time, and now we are convinced that this lie and distortion of facts is not only the brainchild of the 'National Movement.' This is the method of their friends, task-givers, and ideologists, because what we heard yesterday was precisely that modeling, distortion, and saturation with lies of the facts and circumstances that are actually happening in our country. What else can society hear from Ms. Rasa, who is madly in love with Mikheil Saakashvili, and no one can explain to her why Mikheil Saakashvili is guilty. All of this is a weapon in the fight and attack against the Georgian people.

At the same time, we also heard sane voices, which are sounding louder and louder in the European Parliament. It would be good if the 'deep state' agents sitting in the European Parliament would pay more attention to that sane voice that is already being heard loudly in the European Parliament, and would stop provoking with lies, empty, and fabricated - i.e., baseless - arguments what is very regrettable and deepens Euroscepticism in our society. What the Georgian people cannot get used to is lies and double standards," - stated Matikashvili.
