The attack on Georgia, on Georgian society, on the will of Georgian society—so that it arranges its own country according to its own desire—continues. This is how Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili assessed today's discussion of the Georgia issue by the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers. As Papuashvili told journalists, "until Brussels, in any format, sharply condemns the violence of October 4, none of their words are of value to Georgian society."
"We have seen various methods of how attacks are launched against Georgia, against its right to make independent decisions. One such manifestation is various types of gatherings or statements coming from Brussels. Until Brussels—in the format of its foreign ministers, in the Council format, or in any format—sharply and clearly condemns the violence of October 4, the attack on the President's palace, which the European Commission had pre-announced support for through its press spokesperson, until then none of their words are of value to Georgian society. When the European Commission, through its press spokesperson, announced support for violence in Georgia, for the Nepal scenario, for the overthrow of the government—five months have passed and we haven't heard a single word; everyone in Brussels is so twisted—until then, any of their statements regarding Georgia should be viewed in exactly this context: as a continuation of support for anti-democratic forces in Georgia," Papuashvili stated.
For information: According to the preliminary agenda of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, during the meeting planned in Brussels on March 16, foreign ministers will discuss the issue of Georgia among other topics.
"Political developments in Georgia. Information from Germany and France," is written in the agenda.
In addition, among the main topics of the Council meeting are Russia's war against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
