Romanian Foreign Minister: We want to see Georgia back on the European path and for the will of its citizens to be taken into account in political decisions

We have clearly stated that Georgia must take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of its democracy, democratic institutions, and processes—this was stated by Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Țoiu to journalists in Brussels ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers' meeting.

"We are neighbors in the Black Sea region and, in this regard, we are also one of the first European countries to have signed a strategic partnership with Georgia. We want to see Georgia back on the European path and for the will of its citizens to be taken into account in political decisions—especially now, when the Black Sea is so important, not only in terms of Europe's security, but also in terms of energy transportation infrastructure, submarine cable infrastructure, and particularly in terms of how we can fulfill the role of the Black Sea in connecting to other continents as well," noted the head of Romania's foreign ministry.
