Zaza Bibilashvili: The conclusion of the "Moscow Mechanism" is an event equivalent to a historic verdict, while Kobakhidze’s general response was comical – people were having their facial bones smashed in front of cameras, and yet they said, ‘we condemned the violence,’ which is the highest stage of Russian cynicism

“The conclusion of the ‘Moscow Mechanism’ is not an ordinary event; it is equivalent to a historic verdict,” – said Zaza Bibilashvili, head of the “Chavchavadze Center,” on the “Resume” program on PalitraNews.

According to Bibilashvili, the Westward direction has died at the hands of the Georgian Dream party.

“Half of this conclusion is based on the narrative of ‘Georgian Dream.’ The [report] is about 200 pages, and practically half of it is what ‘Georgian Dream’ itself said. Within ‘Georgian Dream,’ they assessed and concluded that nothing needed to be considered. Today, Irakli Kobakhidze’s general response, I would say, was comical in several places. In the first days, they prepared the public, saying that not only are we not afraid of The Hague, but we will even organize the West a trial there. This is a very Russian message, carrying Soviet ‘vibes.’ Apparently, they are the ones organizing some trial in The Hague.

Kobakhidze’s statement today was comical in several ways. It is at a kindergarten level when a person called the Prime Minister says that those who accuse us of torture, inhumane treatment, beatings, and killings had interests against us, and that should not be considered. There are hundreds of documented cases by journalists and passersby who directly recorded what was happening. There are dozens of cases where people had their faces smashed in front of cameras, their facial bones broken, and they said, ‘what more do you want from us, we condemned the violence.’ This is the highest stage of Russian cynicism,” said Zaza Bibilashvili.
