Shalva Papuashvili has an official mandate to use every opportunity to campaign against the European Union and the historic choice of the Georgian people, Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia party, stated while evaluating the annual report of the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

According to him, Papuashvili is one of the “leading standard-bearers in the Russian mission,” which is called weakening the European idea in Georgia and turning Georgia into an isolated swamp.

“We have once again seen what is very well known to Georgian society and the entire civilized world, namely, Shalva Papuashvili has an official mission, a mission to use every opportunity to campaign against the European Union and the historical choice of the Georgian people. He always does everything to inflict as much damage as possible on the European idea, that is, the idea that actually embodies peace, prosperity and stability and which, accordingly, for all these reasons, is the choice of the Georgian people. Papuashvili is one of the leading standard-bearers in this Russian mission, which is called weakening the European idea in Georgia and turning Georgia into an isolated swamp, in which he and his ilk will be able to corruptly graze the national budget, and in return, the Georgian people will be in a state of hunger and hopelessness,” Gegelia said.

For information, the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, presented the annual report on the activities of the Parliament. As he stated, the disinformation and anti-Georgian rhetoric coming from Brussels and other EU capitals must stop. According to him, partnership is impossible where political narratives dominate instead of truth. In addition, as he noted in his speech, the main responsibility for the current tension between Georgia and the EU lies with those European rulers who have made this relationship hostage to their own political agenda.
