Nino Tsilosani – If Elene Khoshtaria had thought about her own children, she would not have organized a revolution in the country - she is a criminal, not a hero, not a political prisoner

If Elene Khoshtaria had thought about her own children, she would not have organized a revolution in the country - she is a criminal, not a hero, not a political prisoner, - the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, told journalists.

According to her, "the court's decision is largely dictated by the fact that she is a recidivist and has committed the same crime approximately 16 times."

Elene Khoshtaria is a proven criminal, a criminal who has repeatedly committed the hooliganisms or crimes for which she is serving a sentence. She positioned herself as a revolutionary, a participant in the coup d’état. She directly states that she supplied the protesters with the means to attack the police, so the court did not issue a verdict different from what she herself admitted. In any case, Elene Khoshtaria positions herself as a lawbreaker. Therefore, she put her family and 4 children in the greatest danger and the greatest trials when she began working against her own country. Of course, the tactic of Elene Khoshtaria and her teammates is to somehow portray these criminals as heroes. We know that in the case of Elene Khoshtaria and her associates, they also imprisoned themselves by refusing to pay bail. They could have paid bail and they would not have been subjected to that measure of restraint, but they decided that it would be better to sell the news outside that they were political prisoners. When a person has the choice to replace detention with bail and does not do so, of course, this is a deliberate step taken for her interests. Accordingly, Elene Khoshtaria is a criminal, not a hero or a political prisoner,” Tsilosani said.

For information, the court found Elene Khoshtaria, the politician and leader of Droa, accused of damaging Kakha Kaladze’s election banner, guilty. The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court judge Giorgi Arevadze. Elene Khoshtaria was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. Accordingly, Khoshtaria will leave the penitentiary in 1 year.
