“No one asks them anything - neither to sign any agreements, nor to coordinate with each other, nor about their disagreements, nor about traveling anywhere. The main question is: what might the individuals united in the ‘collective National Movement’ do? - Harm our country, darken its prospects, and somehow try to create at least a small chance for their own success,” said Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, speaking to journalists about the planned U.S. visit of the “Opposition Alliance.”
According to Gorduladze, “These parties seek their support abroad and forget that in the country, decisions are made by the Georgian people, not by some individual with a foreign name and surname.”
“The old ‘National Movement’ was scattered across different parties, but now it is united. We have seen their splitting and regrouping multiple times, which is always dictated by their patrons’ decisions. No one asks them anything - neither about signing any agreements, nor about cooperating with each other, nor about conflicts, nor about traveling somewhere. The main thing is what the individuals united in the ‘collective National Movement’ might do: harm our country, darken it, and somehow create a chance for their own success. These parties seek support abroad and forget that decisions in the country are made by the Georgian people, not by any foreign individual,” Gorduladze said.
According to available information, the “Opposition Alliance” is preparing for a visit to Washington. As Giorgi Butikashvili, a member of the “Coalition for Change,” told TV First, the visit is expected to take place at the end of April or the beginning of May.
