Salome Zurabishvili - Russia is trying to divide us, the Russian regime in Georgia is trying to prevent unity, the will of the nation, and prevent us from seeing where Georgia should move and develop - the answer must be given once again

Russia is trying to divide us, the Russian regime in Georgia is trying to prevent unity, the will of the nation, and the direction of Georgia's development, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, states in a video message posted on social media.

Salome Zurabishvili says in a video released on the day of the referendum that we are still faced with the same question today as we were 35 years ago.

According to Zurabishvili, no one would imagine that today, the question would be asked again and tragically: what do you want: Russia or Georgia, Russia or freedom, Russia or independence, Russia or the state?

“March 31 is the day of the referendum on the restoration of Georgia’s independence. On this day, there are two heroes: on the one hand, it is the then President of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, who dared to take this step, and on the other hand, the heroic Georgian people, who said what they had to say, expressed their will - they rejected Russia, they rejected the recent past, which was a past of slavery.

This question, unfortunately, is still before us after 35 years, which no one would imagine. We would not imagine that the question would be asked again, so tragically: What do you want, Russia or Georgia? Russia or freedom? Russia or independence? Russia or state? And our answer must be given once again, must be given once again together, because nothing helps Russia and the enemy as much as the division of the nation. Russia is trying in every way to divide us and the Russian regime in Georgia is trying in every way so that unity does not form, the will of the nation does not form, we do not see where Georgia should move, where Georgia should develop. So, this answer must be given by us today. The answer is already given by the young people who are in prison today and are telling us from prison that our future lies in unity and in the answer given together, no to Russia, yes to Georgia,” Zurabishvili stated in her address.
