Mikheil Kavelashvili: Just look at what they did - the mockery and insults directed at my wife - There is nothing these people would not do - if you want to improve relations with the U.S, why are you obstructing it?

“You saw how it started regarding my wife — ‘no one invited her, what does she have to do with it!’ Then she participated; it was a very good meeting of First Ladies, very important. She also delivered a speech — it was a truly pleasant and meaningful meeting, and Georgia was participating in all of this. Just look at what they did — the mockery, the insults — there is nothing these people would not resort to,” said Mikheil Kavelashvili during his visit to Slovakia.

According to him, the very people who claim to support improving relations with Washington are the ones actually hindering it.

“When I build relations with the United States — I am the President of Georgia — the executive branch communicates with the Secretary of State; sometimes it is the Prime Minister, sometimes the President, sometimes the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This is a good thing for Georgia. And when you oppose this — is that serving Georgia? Is that helping improve relations with the United States?

Who is actually working toward this, and who is opposing it? And what kind of mockery is this? You saw how it started regarding my wife — ‘no one invited her, what does she have to do with it!’ Then she took part in a very good meeting of First Ladies, an important one — about artificial intelligence. Today’s technologies concern everyone. They picked up on this topic and found it important — the maternal instinct is indeed a significant issue, because a mother has the strongest emotional connection to her child and should be actively involved in addressing these challenges. The role of a parent is crucial, because we cannot avoid these new technologies and our children must be protected.

These were the issues discussed — she also gave a speech. It was a very good, meaningful meeting, and Georgia was part of it. And just look at what they did — the mockery, the insults — there is nothing they would not do.

If you want to improve relations and claim to be pro-American, why are you obstructing it? Let relations be normalized, and then fight for your rights there — be better than this government. But if you are obstructing relations with the United States, how can you claim to support those relations?” Kavelashvili said.
