Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of the Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, stated that he has positive expectations regarding the upcoming visit of a United States delegation to Georgia.
As he noted while commenting to the media, Georgia is ready to begin relations between the two countries “from a new page,” although this must be a mutual process.
“I have optimistic expectations, which are reinforced by the phone call between Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as the messages expressed. Therefore, let’s wait and see. We are ready to start relations between the two countries from a new page. For us, friendship and strategic partnership are important, and most importantly, all of this must be mutual,” Kaladze said.
For reference, according to Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee, a group from the United States will visit Georgia in April to study the ongoing developments in the country.
As Makhashvili told journalists, through each meeting with the American side, the Georgian government is trying to restore relations.
