“You say that Mr. Orbán was rejected — I don’t know where such ideas come from. On the contrary, we are stating that we are very grateful to Mr. Orbán and his team for the friendship they have shown toward Georgia. Of course, we are optimistic that this relationship will continue under the new government as well,” said Georgian Dream MP Levan Machavariani at a plenary session of Parliament.
Earlier, he addressed the opposition, claiming they have zero chance of replacing “Georgian Dream.”
“Mr. Giorgi Sharashidze said that you will have to leave through elections. Yes, of course, ‘Georgian Dream’ will also be replaced when the time comes, through elections, but it will be replaced by a national government — a government, a team, and young people who will surely emerge, for whom sovereignty is as important as it is for us, and who will not be foreign-controlled agents. Unfortunately, today the entire radical opposition is controlled from outside, and therefore you have zero chance of replacing ‘Georgian Dream.’ When we talk about voters, I would advise you not to speak on their behalf, because compared to 2024, your voter base has shrunk to one-third, precisely because people have understood and clearly seen that you represent a collective ‘United National Movement’ and are governed by the same structure as other radical parties abroad,” Machavariani stated.
