The Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into an incident in the village of Koda, where, during a verbal altercation, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs fired several shots from a firearm. The investigation has been initiated on charges of threats and intentional minor bodily harm.
Specifically, according to the statement released by the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation has established at this stage that on April 13, in the village of Koda in the Tetritskaro municipality, on the premises of a car wash, during a confrontation, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs fired several shots toward a concrete surface. As a result, one person reportedly sustained minor injuries caused by fragments ricocheting off the concrete.
“Investigative and procedural actions in the criminal case are actively ongoing; witnesses are being questioned, and relevant forensic examinations have been ordered. At this stage, criminal prosecution has not been initiated against any individual.
The investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the Kvemo Kartli Regional Prosecutor’s Office under Article 120, Part 1 (intentional minor bodily harm) and Article 151, Part 1 (threat) of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the statement reads.
