“We saw that the tail-between-the-legs delegation of ‘Georgian Dream’ returned disappointed. Their patron and spiritual leader, Viktor Orbán, has been politically defeated, and now ‘Georgian Dream’ is left only with trying to explain this unfavorable situation through certain paranoid theories,” said Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of “Lelo – Strong Georgia.”
According to Gegelia, no matter what “Georgian Dream” says, this signals “the same kind of end for all similar regimes.”
“The whole world and Georgia saw and celebrated the end of Viktor Orbán’s autocratic regime. No matter what ‘Georgian Dream’ says, this foreshadows an identical end for all such regimes. I would like to tell their speakers, including Levan Makhashvili: it is clear that you do not understand Georgian and failed to hear the voice of the Georgian people in your own language, and apparently you do not understand English either, since you failed to grasp what Mr. Magyar said. He stated that, unlike Orbán, he does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of different states, which is exactly what Viktor Orbán used to do when he openly and vocally supported the ‘Georgian Dream’ regime. Magyar said he does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of other states—this is an open and direct change from Orbán’s harmful course.
Of course, we are ready to engage with a politician and partner who defends our country’s national interests and the shared European values that unite us, a democratic Hungary, and the entire civilized world,” said Grigol Gegelia.
