Shalva Papuashvili - The Ukrainian and Moldovan path of European integration is not the Georgian path, Georgia will never take the path of Ukraine and Moldova, which implies EU membership by ceding territories and abolishing the state

I want to tell everyone in the European Union, in Brussels and their satellites in Georgia that the Ukrainian and Moldovan path of European integration is not the Georgian path, Georgia will never take the path of Ukraine and Moldova, which implies EU membership by giving up territories and abolishing the state, - the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.

According to him, EU membership is not an end in itself in the event that "we have to give up territories, sovereignty and identity for this reason."

“Yesterday we saw the statement of the German Chancellor. He said that Ukraine will probably need to cede territories in order to move forward with its EU accession. We also saw the statement of the Moldovan President, who reiterated that the abolition of the Moldovan state and its transformation into a part of Romania is the most optimal way for Moldova to join the EU.

In the case of Merz’s statement, it is meant that if Ukraine wants membership, it must cede its jurisdiction and sovereignty. The Moldovan President says that if Moldova wants to join the EU, it must not only cede the sovereignty of the state, but also abolish the state.

When they use Ukraine and Moldova as examples, I want to tell everyone in the EU, in Brussels and their satellites in Georgia, that the Ukrainian and Moldovan path to European integration is not the Georgian path, Georgia will never take the path of Ukraine and Moldova, which implies EU membership by giving up territories and abolishing the state.

This is exactly what we were told, that EU membership should be an end in itself. If EU membership is an end in itself, it means that you have to sacrifice your territorial sovereignty, the sovereignty of the state. In this sense, EU membership is not our end in itself, if for this we have to give up territories, sovereignty, identity, the right to determine our own policy, which is being imposed on Ukraine and Moldova as a condition from Brussels, and they themselves admit that these conditions exist," Papuashvili said.
