The court has found the brothers Davit and Giorgi Mikadze, as well as Giorgi Jokhadze, accused of organizing the murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze, guilty.
The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court Judge Romeo Tkeshelashvili.
By the judge’s decision, Giorgi Mikadze, who is detained, as well as Davit Mikadze and Giorgi Jokhadze, who are still wanted, have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
According to Judge Romeo Tkeshelashvili, the prosecution was able to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
A large number of law enforcement officers have been mobilized for security purposes on the outer and inner perimeters of the court.
For information, brothers Giorgi and Davit Mikadze, as well as Giorgi Jokhadze, were charged under Part "N" of Article 25-109 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to organizing a murder by order and for receiving benefits.
Giorgi Jokhadze was also charged under Subsections "a" and "b" of Part 6 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to illegal group purchase, storage and sale of firearms and ammunition.
Gela Udzilauri is also convicted of premeditated murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze and attempted murder of Gia Chaduneli. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment. In the framework of the above-mentioned case, Sandro Tsivtsivadze has been convicted of the illegal sale of firearms and sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Within the framework of the same case, former Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze is also charged under Article 25/109, Subsection “N” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to organizing premeditated murder by order and for profit.
The aforementioned crime provides for a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze is a citizen of Russia and is internationally wanted.
