Ani Nadareishvili: So far, those brought in are so-called injured parties borrowed from other court cases, and they have no connection to Bacho’s case; Bacho Akhalaia is detained in connection with intensive internet usage

“So far, those brought in are so-called injured parties borrowed from other court cases, and they have no connection to Bacho’s case. Bacho Akhalaia is detained in connection with intensive internet usage.” Witnesses, according to Ani Nadareishvili, cannot have any connection to Bacho Akhalaia.

“The witnesses cannot possibly have any connection to Bacho Akhalaia because Bacho Akhalaia is detained in connection with internet usage, intensive usage. Bacho could not have harmed these people via the internet,” said Ani Nadareishvili.

The hearing is currently ongoing at the Tbilisi City Court.

“Those brought in so far were so-called victims, I say ‘so-called’ because they are borrowed victims from other court cases and have no connection to Bacho’s case. They themselves state in court that they cannot provide any information regarding Bacho Akhalaia, they are simply recounting the events of October 4 by heart. They are also bringing so-called fence experts, who of course cannot have any connection to the case, because Bacho Akhalaia is detained in connection with internet usage, intensive usage,” Nadareishvili stated.

According to her, it has not even been established what exactly was done with the internet, let alone the content of any communication.

“There is not even any established communication content, nor even which device was used by which family member in the house to access the internet. It is not even about calls - there is no determination of how the internet was used at all, and let alone its content. Our internet traffic data has been seized, as well as Paata Manjgaladze’s internet usage from that day. For example, even Kobakhidze’s usage might coincide, and I am sure that at some point, even by minute and second, Kobakhidze’s internet usage could overlap with my home internet usage,” she added.

For context, Bacho Akhalaia has been charged under Article 225 (part 1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia - organizing and leading group violence in connection with the October 4 case - which carries a penalty of up to 9 years of imprisonment.
