„Georgian Days is an opportunity to celebrate not only Georgia’s independence and cultural legacy, but also the enduring bonds within our community and between Georgia and the United States,” said Salome Tsereteli-Stephens, President of the Georgian Association in the USA. “At a time when Georgia’s democratic and Western aspirations remain challenged, political, economic, and societal tensions are high, Association's longstanding commitment to bringing people together through culture, education, and shared heritage is more important than ever. We are proud to carry forward the vision of our founders and to continue building a welcoming space where all of us can connect, learn, and celebrate our shared heritage“.

Bringing together Georgians, Georgian-Americans, and friends of Georgia from across the United States, Georgian Days will highlight the richness of Georgian culture, history, language, and artistic traditions while strengthening connections within the diaspora and with the broader American public.

The program is organized in partnership with Pesvebi NY, American Friends of Georgia, The Academy of Georgian Heritage, and Veterans Charitable Foundation. On the opening day - May 17, Georgian Association will announce the recipient of this year’s GA Achievement Award, a long-time Georgia scholar, researcher, and author, Peter F. Skinner, for his outstanding contribution to Georgian studies. His efforts have helped introduce valuable historical sources on Georgia to wider audiences. Especially Georgia: The Land Below the Caucasus: A Narrative History (2014), has made Georgia’s history more accessible to English-language readers and helped bring greater attention to Georgia’s historical legacy.
