Mamuka Mdinaradze - On October 4, we had a much more serious matter to deal with, then state institutions managed to prevent a big disaster - they will not be able to carry out something similar on May 26, I have this information that they will not be able to do anything

No, they will not be able to carry out something like this on May 26. I can tell you with full responsibility that I have access to the relevant information, I have this data, that they will not do anything, - this is how Deputy Prime Minister, State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Structures Mamuka Mdinaradze answered the question of whether they expect the same development of scenarios on May 26 as on October 4, 2025.

Mdinaradze is confident that events similar to those on October 4 cannot be planned for May 26.

“On October 4, we had a much more serious case, then state institutions managed to avert a big disaster. We were able to accomplish everything on the same day, both the leaders of the expected uprising and the leaders of the coup were detained, and absolutely everyone who actively participated or could have participated was neutralized in advance. This was a joint event conducted by large agencies, and this yielded a positive result, everything ended calmly and peacefully. Something like this cannot be planned for May 26,” said Mdinaradze.

In addition, Mdinaradze also spoke about the opposition. According to him, if there had not been divisions among the opposition, this would have been surprising.

"If there had been no division, it would have been surprising, given that they do not have ideological unity. Whatever issue they have ideological unity on, they have it on the only issue and they cannot say it publicly, they cannot disclose it, and that is coming to power, seizing power and carrying out external tasks. There is no politician in the world who recognizes this. Therefore, they cannot gather around this only ideological unity, they cannot declare it publicly. For the rest, they do not have real ideological unity or an idea that would unite them and could disclose it, therefore, confrontation is a natural phenomenon and neither we, nor they will be able to resist it," - said Mdinaradze.

For information, the opposition is announcing a large-scale rally for May 26. According to the opposition parties, the march will start at 19:00 from TSU and will reach the parliament building, where a stage will be set up.
