There are some people in the European Parliament who, if they were allowed, would throw missiles at us and bring in troops here, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said in response to the question "Does he expect that the European Union will share the British sanctions?"
Papuashvili says that the European Parliament is hostile towards the Georgian people and, in this situation, there is nothing surprising.
"There are some people in the European Parliament who, if you let them, would throw missiles at Georgia. Fortunately, they do not have the power to fire missiles at us, otherwise, I assure you, if you let them fire missiles at us, they would bring in the army here. And the people here would justify it, saying that the army came to establish democracy. Specifically, those people who are distinguished by their hostile attitude towards Georgia. There is nothing surprising in this. Moreover, recently, we have seen attempts to restrict free media in the European Parliament. When there is such a hostile environment towards the Georgian people in the European Parliament, there is nothing surprising," Papuashvili said.
