Several weeks ago, a fake page was created on the social platform TikTok in the name of Tsotne Ivanishvili. Manipulative videos with provocative content are being distributed from this fake account, - the Georgian Dream party says in a statement.

According to the party, the case has been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for additional legal response. The party calls on TikTok users to refrain from communicating with the person behind the fake page.

“Several weeks ago, a fake page was created on the social platform TikTok in the name of Tsotne Ivanishvili. Manipulative videos with provocative content are being distributed from this fake account, and messages are being sent to young people from the fake page in the name of Tsotne Ivanishvili, as if he is inviting people to an interview at the party’s central office.

An official letter has been sent to the administration of the social platform TikTok stating that the page is fake and misleading the public. We are waiting for a response to the above letter and the cancellation of the fake page. We would also like to call on TikTok users not to communicate with the person behind the above page, as he is misusing the name of Tsotne Ivanishvili. The case has been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for additional legal response,” reads the statement.
