Irakli Kobakhidze on police violence against a citizen: I have seen the footage, it is absolutely unacceptable - relevant state agencies will take appropriate action

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated that the violence carried out by law enforcement officers against citizens in Gori will be properly addressed by the relevant state bodies.

According to the Prime Minister, the actions of the law enforcement officers seen in the footage are “absolutely unacceptable.”

“I have seen this footage, it is absolutely unacceptable, and of course the relevant state agencies must and will take appropriate action, and the public will be informed,” Kobakhidze said.

For context, in Gori’s so-called Kombinati settlement, two individuals were physically assaulted by a group of law enforcement officers. Footage of the incident was circulated on social media by “Kartli News.” The Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into alleged abuse of power involving police violence.
