According to the Prime Minister, a large-scale project aimed at strengthening the country's defense capabilities is underway to integrate and develop unmanned and counter-unmanned systems. As part of this initiative, a Directorate for the Development of Unmanned and Counter-Unmanned Systems has been established, along with a specialized training and research school.
In his annual report submitted to Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze writes that, in order to ensure secure, resilient, and effective command and control of the Defense Forces on the battlefield, as well as support through communications and information systems, units are being equipped with modern radio systems. According to the government's report, units continued to be supplied on an ongoing basis with specialized communications vehicles and tactical radio stations.
During the reporting period, the Georgian Defence Forces received both cargo vehicles and light high-mobility transport vehicles, which, according to the report, significantly enhance the rapid deployment and mobility capabilities of maneuver units.
The Prime Minister's report also states that, as part of the process of restoring the Ministry of Defence's aviation fleet, refurbishment work on aircraft was carried out. Training and transport aircraft were modernized, while helicopters and other aircraft also underwent repairs and restoration.
