As of May 30, 315 alleged cases of elite corruption have been recorded, involving more than 257 current and former high-ranking officials of the Georgian Dream party - if not under these conditions, the future national government will definitely investigate all these corruption cases and not a single official who robbed the Georgian budget will go unpunished, - Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Strong Georgia - Lelo, stated at the briefing.
According to him, the responsibility for the alleged cases of elite corruption lies with the founder of the ruling party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and the “Anti-Georgian Dream”.
“The NGO Transparency International – Georgia has published a very important study, according to which, as of May 30, 2026, 315 alleged cases of elite corruption have been registered, involving more than 257 current and former high-ranking officials of the Georgian Dream. In the last 6 months alone, 33 alleged cases of elite corruption have been reported, including Levan Zhorzholiani’s unsubstantiated assets, problematic construction permits issued to Kaladze’s entourage, 10.4 million GEL tenders won by Viktor Japaridze’s son’s company, 178 million GEL from the preferential agrocredit program for businessmen close to the Georgian Dream, 250 million GEL from the budget for the Ili Group, and the closure of the Abastumani sky by Bidzina Ivanishvili.
The list of 315 alleged corruption cases revealed looks like this - 40 members of the government are alleged accomplices in these corruption schemes, 48 members of parliament, 20 judges are representatives of the “clan” and, quite expectedly and naturally, 81 municipal officials.
While prices are rising, the “Anti-Georgian Dream” is hiding very serious questions in the activities of elite corruption. This indicator is unprecedented, which indicates the serious political and economic activities of the “Georgian Dream” and its related businesses. Responsibility lies with Ivanishvili and the “Anti-Georgian Dream”. If not, under these conditions, the future national government will definitely investigate all these corruption cases and not a single official who robbed the Georgian budget will remain unpunished,” said Kupradze.
