According to Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze, protecting the interests of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the government's top priority, and every decision will be made with that objective in mind.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia reported that a working meeting was held with parents of patients affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The meeting was attended by the minister and other ministry representatives.
According to the ministry, the discussion focused on issues related to obtaining information about medications and on future plans regarding treatment options.
“As Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze noted, protecting the interests of patients remains the priority, and every decision will be made with that consideration in mind.
During the meeting, held in the format of a working group, participants also discussed other important issues related to the effective management and care of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
It was emphasized that meetings within the working group format will continue,” the ministry said in a statement.
