If the European Parliament wants to organize a revolution in Georgia, they will receive an appropriate response, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
As Irakli Kobakhidze noted, they are in a strategic patience mode in terms of relations with Brussels.
"We are in a waiting mode, we are in a strategic patience mode. As soon as we see that the Soviet approaches have changed in the European Parliament, or in the European bureaucracy, of course, the dialogue will immediately resume. It depends on them. Therefore, we are in a waiting and strategic patience mode," - Kobakhidze said.
Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about the laws adopted by the Georgian Dream, which, in his opinion, "the European Parliament does not like."
"If we take the Law on Assemblies - for a year and more, the central avenue of the country had been blocked. 150 “nationalists” disturbed the whole of Georgia and we adopted a law against this and now they don't like this law. From this it can be seen that the European Parliament likes the disturbance of 3,900,000 people by 150 “nationalists”. It's the same on the sidewalk. As soon as we stopped blocking Rustaveli Avenue, then they started walking on the sidewalks and blocking the sidewalks. We adopted a law. If you are 150 people, stand and be quiet! Stand wherever you want, on the sidewalk, but don't disturb others. Don't disturb others on the sidewalk either. This law was adopted because they were blocking sidewalks, organizing demonstrations on the sidewalks, in order to create discomfort for the population of Tbilisi with 150 people. We adopted a law against this, it is an absolutely sound law. The European Parliament does not like this, it turns out that they like 150 people disturbing 3,900,000 people. 150 “nationalists” cannot disturb 3,900,000 people in Georgia,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
As for the law On Grants, according to Kobakhidze, after the adoption of this law, the country was calmed down and pacified.
"Grants were used to finance incitement of hatred, aggression in Georgia, attacks against the Orthodox Church, attacks against state institutions, and this was a typical tool of harsh foreign intervention. The Law on Grants was adopted against this, and after the adoption of this law, we calmed and pacified our country. Before that, there were five attempts at revolution in four years, which were organized by organizations funded by these grants, and when the European Parliament tells you that this law should be repealed, it means that after the fifth year they want to organize another sixth attempt at revolution, and of course, we cannot have a different reaction to this, we will have a very strict reaction. If the European Parliament wants to organize a revolution in Georgia, they will certainly receive an appropriate response,” Kobakhidze said.
As for the people affected during the protests, as Kobakhidze noted, there were several cases where violence was committed and where there were clear signs of a crime, and law enforcement agencies had already responded to these facts about a month ago.
“As for the other side, they are also demanding that the perpetrators be released, right? As for the perpetrators, more than 500 people were violent on a daily basis and only 30 people were arrested, and here too they want a different approach. In fact, the only thing these people want is to weaken the state, weaken state institutions. In general, everyone knows very well that they do not care about human rights. In 2004-2012, it was the European Parliament that “justified” the torture of people, the rape of people in prisons and outside prisons. These people are not interested in human rights at all. The only thing that interests these people today is to somehow return these very torturers to power, and of course, we will have an appropriate response to their attempt.
Their job is to reconsider their Soviet approaches. They should reconsider their Soviet approaches, in this case, relations will be restored and return to the correct framework," Kobakhidze said.
