According to Eurostat data, Georgia also ranked second in the first quarter of 2026 in the number of citizens deported from the European Union to third countries. During this period, 2,060 Georgian citizens were returned from EU territory.
Turkey ranked first, with 3,555 citizens returned from EU member states, while Albania ranked third with 2,050 deportations.
As for other statistics, among those ordered to leave EU member states in the first quarter of 2026, the largest numbers were citizens of Algeria (11,105), Morocco (6,435), and Syria. By this measure, Georgia ranked sixth, after Turkey and Tunisia, with 3,310 Georgian citizens ordered to leave EU member states during the first quarter of 2026.
Overall, EU countries issued orders to leave to 108,475 non-EU nationals in the first quarter of 2026, and following those orders, 34,550 people were returned to third countries.
Compared with the first quarter of 2025, the number of non-EU nationals ordered to leave EU countries decreased by 12.8%, while the number of people returned to third countries increased by 8.1%.
The highest numbers of departure orders were recorded in France (34,880), Germany (10,360), and Spain (9,275).
The largest numbers of returns to third countries were carried out by Germany (7,300), France (3,775), and Poland (2,660).
