“We are concluding the European People’s Party Political Assembly in Vienna and I want to send a strong message to all citizens of Georgia, to those who are fighting for full democracy in Georgia: We always stand by their side,” said Dolores Monserrat, Secretary General of the European People’s Party.
According to her, “solidarity is expressed with all political prisoners who are in prison.”
“We are not going to back down. The second message is solidarity with all those political prisoners who are in prison to defend full democracy, the rule of law, freedom and equality in Georgian society, and of course with all those female journalists who are in prison. Elene Khoshtaria, who is the leader of an opposition party, is in prison and has health problems. We want to send a strong message to her and to the entire Georgian society. We must help them. She is a mother of four children and has health problems in prison,” Dolores Monserrat noted.
