Irakli Kirtskhalia is agitated. He probably feels comfortable under Mamuka Mdinaradze’s wing, but Kirtskhalia and others should know one thing: they will not be able to hide under Mdinaradze’s protection or behind the system. The time will inevitably come when they will have to take responsibility for every word they have said and every action they have taken, Giga Parulava, a member of the For Georgia party and an MP, said in response to remarks by a Georgian Dream lawmaker regarding the investigation into the confrontation between members of Georgian Dream and For Georgia in Parliament.
According to Parulava, the confrontation that took place in the Georgian Parliament was yet another manifestation of a systemic crime.
“We once again emphasize that what happened in Parliament is another manifestation of a systemic crime. Therefore, the system itself, the individuals who participated in it, as well as the Prosecutor’s Office, should know one thing: the time will certainly come when everyone will have to take responsibility for both their actions and their inaction.
As for these ‘cards,’ they were shared in light of what had happened in other parliaments concerning incidents of violence. I repeat, what occurred in the Georgian Parliament is another manifestation of systemic violence. We are not talking about specific surnames here; this was a systemic crime planned, organized, and carried out by Georgian Dream against our team,” Parulava said.
For reference, Irakli Kirtskhalia, the leader of the parliamentary majority, commented to the media on the physical confrontation involving representatives of the For Georgia party in Parliament:
“In Senegal, one colleague kicked or struck a pregnant colleague. If Mr. Giga Parulava presents a certificate confirming his pregnancy, I personally promise to petition the Prosecutor’s Office to open a case against us over this accusation. The only thing they didn’t do was cry at the podium—they did everything else,” Kirtskhalia said.
