Beka Chulukhadze, arrested in connection with the October 4 case, pleads not guilty. Chulukhadze's lawyer, Gaioz Charkviani, told InterpressNews about the above.

As Charkviani explains, he has not seen his client since his arrest, therefore, the details of the arrest are unknown to him at this stage.

"I haven't met him yet, I'm going to go there on Monday to clarify the details - what happened and under what circumstances he was detained. I will make additional comments after meeting with him. I know that he was detained on the Georgian-Armenian border, I have no other information.

He has been charged in connection with the case of October 4, 2025, he was charged in absentia. The case is currently being considered on the merits in the Tbilisi City Court. The trial is scheduled for August 11," Charkviani said.

For information, Beka Chulukhadze was detained in the neutral zone between the Georgian-Armenian border checkpoints. He was charged in absentia under Article 236, Part 3, of the Criminal Code of Georgia on October 6 last year. The Tbilisi City Court ordered pre-trial detention for him and he was put on the wanted list on October 8.

Chulukhadze is accused of purchasing and storing a large number of firearms, ammunition and explosives for the purpose of organizing sabotage acts, in parallel with the organized group violence and the attempt to seize the presidential palace on October 4, 2025.

According to the SSU, they are also working to establish the contacts of Beka Chulukhadze and the persons who gave him criminal orders together with Bachana Akhalaia, Paata Burchuladze and other persons involved in organizing the crime of October 4, 2025.
