"Unfortunately, the OSCE also turned out to be involved in the coordinated process aimed at attacking the Georgian people and opposing the will expressed by the Georgian people," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while speaking to journalists.
According to him, there is no point even discussing the resolution adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly because, he said, it is "entirely based on lies and defamation."
Kobakhidze said that the document does not meet traditional European standards in any way.
"There are cases when there is simply no point in having a discussion - there are straightforward political agendas, and in this case, the OSCE turned out to be an executor of such an agenda. You know that this entire document adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is based on complete falsehoods. It was initiated by Joe Wilson and approved at the Assembly session.
There is no point even discussing this document because this resolution is entirely expressed through lies and defamation. Therefore, the only thing this document allows us to do is draw conclusions about the situation within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly itself.
Unfortunately, the OSCE also turned out to be involved in the coordinated process aimed at attacking the Georgian people and opposing the will expressed by the Georgian people. This is, of course, not the right or fair approach.
This document does not meet traditional European standards in any way. However, today it is already very difficult to talk about what European standards are, given that the European bureaucracy has established an entirely new standard of falsehood, which is very regrettable and unfortunate.
The latest OSCE resolution is another expression of this newly established standard, which is very disappointing. Ultimately, it is precisely these problems that create many types of complications in Europe - both in terms of identity (you know what serious trends exist in Europe regarding the preservation of identity) and economically, where Europe is facing very difficult trends.
It is precisely the result of such incorrect approaches, injustice, and double standards that we are seeing these negative trends across Europe," Kobakhidze said.
For reference, on July 8, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted the "Hague Declaration," which includes a resolution concerning Georgia. The main sponsor of the resolution, titled "Protecting the Integrity of Elections and Fundamental Freedoms in Georgia," is U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly called on the Georgian authorities to: "release all Georgian political prisoners identified by national and international human rights organizations; repeal all legislation that restricts fundamental freedoms and contradicts Georgia's obligations regarding the protection of human rights."
