There are tens of thousands of public officials - summarizing and presenting in numbers that a spouse gave something to a spouse, a child gave something to a parent, or a parent gave something to a child, is manipulation and farce, which only indicates that Transparency International Georgia is a weapon of hybrid war against Georgia, - with this statement, the Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili responded to the information of the non-governmental organization Transparency International Georgia, according to which officials received gifts worth 24 million GEL in 8 months.
According to Papuashvili, in this case they are talking about declared gifts and if there was any illegal income, no one would have declared it.
According to Papuashvili, “Transparency International, registered in Estonia, is trying to manipulate the numbers.”
“Those who are funding Transparency International today are waging a hybrid war against Georgia. It seems that Transparency International is being secretly funded from European funds, because they are not saying anything publicly.
This is precisely the coordinated disinformation that is being spread against state structures and public officials in this case. Sooner or later, it will become clear who is financing Transparency International at this moment, and we will see that it is precisely the country and organization that was waging a hybrid war against Georgia.
There are tens of thousands of public servants. To draw some kind of summary from this, that a spouse gave something to a spouse, a child gave something to a parent, or a parent gave something to a child, to summarize this and present it in some numbers, is manipulation and a farce, which only indicates that Transparency International - Georgia is a weapon of hybrid war against Georgia.
We are talking about declared gifts. If something is illegal income, then no one would have declared it. Since it is in the declaration, how can it be illegal income?! Did the person expose himself?! - So, it is absurd! ", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
Transparency International Georgia has examined the gifts declared by officials. According to the organization, it turned out that from September 2025 to April 2026, 379 officials received gifts worth 24 million GEL.
They received 11 million GEL in cash and 12 million GEL in real estate. They also received cars, weapons and jewelry as gifts. According to Transparency International Georgia, officials received 60.78% of the gifts from their parents.
