The Special Penitentiary Service clarifies that Murtaz Zodelava, a politician and former Prosecutor General convicted in the October 4 case, did not suffer a stroke.

On the other hand, the Penitentiary Service confirms that Murtaz Zodelava had health-related complaints, after which he was transferred to the Vivamedi clinic for diagnosis.

“The Special Penitentiary Service responds to the false information spread regarding convict Murtaz Zodelava and clarifies that the convict did not suffer a stroke. In accordance with the complaints of convict Murtaz Zodelava, he was transferred to the Vivamedi Clinic for diagnosis. As a result of the tests conducted at the clinic, all types of acute pathological processes were excluded.

Despite the convict’s request to return to the penitentiary institution, he was placed in the clinic for further dynamic observation.

The Special Penitentiary Service once again calls on any person to refrain from spreading such false information,” reads the statement released by the Penitentiary Service.
