They fought us with exactly the same unfair and dirty methods that Brussels is fighting us with today - with lies, blackmail, threats, disinformation, double standards, etc. - Levan Machavariani, the first deputy chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, writes on social networks.

Machavariani echoed Donald Trump's letter, in which he addresses Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that he "looks forward to strengthening cooperation".

“Our team has done everything to start a real partnership with the US: based on the above-mentioned attitude, we were in confrontation with the administration that Mr. Trump refers to as an enemy; we openly supported the election of Donald Trump as president; complete alignment in values ​​and political worldview; similar positions and messages regarding state sovereignty; similar assessments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war; the same vision regarding the problems of European bureaucracy - our claims regarding Brussels were reflected one by one by the US in its National Security Strategy document; identical assessment of the risks of external interference; complete alignment in the assessment of threats related to NGOs; similar assessments regarding far-left ideology.

We have stated at all levels that we are ready to meet with our American colleagues at any time and write a specific roadmap in time and space, which will reflect the interests of both parties.

Based on all this, we remain optimistic that a real friendship and partnership between Georgia and the United States will begin," Machavariani wrote.
