“It is very important for us that the President of the United States responded to my visit to the US Embassy on the occasion of US Independence Day with such a positive letter,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while commenting on a letter sent by US President Donald Trump.
According to Kobakhidze, such messages keep them optimistic that relations between Georgia and the United States may soon be reset.
“We often say that our desire is to completely reset our relations, restore the strategic partnership and do all of this from a clean slate, with a concrete roadmap. Of course, such messages keep us optimistic that relations may soon be reset. This is our desire, and we are patiently waiting for a firm position from the American side on this issue,” Kobakhidze said.
