Even by the standards of Kaladze's political provincialism, it is quite laughable and comical to celebrate an automatically generated letter of this kind, said Grigol Gegelia, Foreign Secretary of Lelo – Strong Georgia, commenting on the letter U.S. President Donald Trump sent to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze's assessment of it.

According to Gegelia, the letter was sent to every leader who congratulated the United States on the 250th anniversary of its Independence Day, while the reality, he said, is that the U.S. has suspended its strategic partnership with Georgia.

"Even by the standards of Kaladze's political provincialism, it is quite laughable and comical to celebrate this type of automatically generated letter, which was received by every leader who congratulated President Trump and the United States on the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

The fact that the leaders of Georgian Dream attach such importance to a single automatically generated letter is the clearest indication of their deep hunger for legitimacy and their awareness that no one is interested in them, no one engages with them, and they lack both reputation and appeal. That is why they can express such excitement over a letter that was sent in the same form to every leader.

The reality is that Georgia's strategic partnership with the United States remains suspended. It is also a fact that the United States and its Secretary of State have clearly stated that normalization will be possible if Georgia fulfills five conditions. If none of those conditions are met and no steps are taken toward them, normalization will not happen.

Therefore, instead of celebrating these superficial, automatically generated letters, I would advise Georgian Dream to stop the cheering and take real, effective steps to restore Georgia's lost strategic partnership with the United States," Gegelia said.

For reference, U.S. President Donald Trump sent a letter to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze thanking him for his congratulations on the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day.

In the letter, Trump wrote that the United States and Georgia can achieve significant progress by working together to support sovereignty, security, and long-term prosperity.
