The EU’s 21st sanctions package exposes a national disgrace: Georgian assets being used to fuel Russia’s war machine, according to the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili.

“The EU’s 21st sanctions package exposes a national disgrace: Georgian assets being used to fuel Russia’s war machine. By enabling Kremlin evasion, those in power are betraying our sovereignty. Georgia belongs in Europe, we will NEVER be a back door for Russian aggression!”, - Zurabishvili writes on X.

The European Union has imposed sanctions on 14 cryptocurrency-related platforms, including the Kulevi refinery based in Georgia, the European Union Council said in a statement. The EU is imposing a transaction ban against the Georgian refinery, which will come into force in 6 months.
