On this side stands a law-abiding society; no one intends to fight or confront the police, but the fact that someone who looks like a street guy thinks he has strength and muscles and will mess with someone is completely unimaginable in Georgia - there must necessarily be patience and patience, but this does not mean that if they insult us, they will not get what they deserve in return! - this is how Vano Tsereteli, a member of the “Coalition for Change,” responds to the founding of a movement by MMA fighter Giorgi Kartvelishvili together with like-minded people, whose declared goal is the protection of Georgian values, principles, and traditions.
According to Tsereteli, he is convinced that “the majority of those sitting there will not even pass the test of acceptable exams in the history of Georgia.”
In addition, as he noted on the PalitraNews program “Day’s Newsroom,” the campaign is organized in the State Security Service, which “Georgian Dream” needs because it has not been able to stop the protest.
“Let’s start the conversation with this and ask the question: how much does a person who announced the creation of an organization yesterday know the meaning of the concepts of value and principle? If he knows Georgian culture and the history of Georgia, the first thing he should do is turn to the Parliament, to ‘Georgian Dream’ in power, and really smash their face, because they are removing the most important support from Georgian values - this is, on the one hand, moving in the direction of the West and, on the other, respect for the Constitution. These are Georgian traditions and Georgian values!
What does this person think - that if he swings a fist at someone, this will remain unanswered in Georgia?! Even worse than this is the response that took place from the side of ‘Georgian Dream.’ From the very beginning it became known that this is not some association of free-thinking people who are fighting for something, but another campaign organized in the State Security Service, which ‘Georgian Dream’ needs because it has not been able to stop what has been happening so far. Second, and more importantly - they are expecting a new wave. For example, yesterday they announced that they are allocating 3,000 places for student internships. This should also be connected with the Speaker of Parliament’s statement from yesterday, which prepared the ground for finally ending relations with the European Union. Why? - We saw a 6-month reservation, within the framework of which, in the 21st package of sanctions imposed on Russia, those companies that serve the Russian side in the war will fall under sanctions. After this, not one heavy pressure will come against ‘Georgian Dream.’ ‘Georgian Dream’ is waiting for this and is looking for ways to act on many things. In 2024, when we did not return the hand to people dressed in police uniforms, now no one will leave such people unanswered,” - Vano Tsereteli stated.
In this context, Tsereteli also says that “Georgian Dream” is trying to base the governance of the country on fear and obedience by using these methods.
“For ‘Georgian Dream,’ the word ‘politics’ has lost its meaning in the sense that it no longer has any electoral load; ‘Georgian Dream’ is no longer interested in who will be its supporter - the only thing they hope for is that they will be able to strengthen power, and this is fear. Fear should then be followed by obedience. This is the only way!
Yesterday I read in many places about the 1990s, but let’s say it directly: then there was Jaba Ioseliani, and even by the scale of evil, they cannot reach Jaba Ioseliani and his intellect. If they want to bring the 1990s, we also know how all of this finally ended.
Georgia is not a country where the form of governance that ‘Georgian Dream’ is pushing will be established. Of course, this will cause very bad confrontations, but it will not take on a large-scale character. The 1990s were a completely different period. That was a stage of large-scale changes - a transition from one reality to a new reality, and at that time there were people of a completely different scale, both in the direction of evil and in the direction of good. These people will not be able to ‘handle’ this, will not achieve it, and it will remain petty hooliganism,” - Vano Tsereteli stated.
In his assessment, the weapon of those people who are fighting against Bidzina Ivanishvili in the streets today is patience.
“There must necessarily be patience and patience, but this does not mean that if they insult us, they will not get what they deserve in return. As they said, they are ready to go even to prison against this invented enemy. Let’s answer this from the opposite side - which Georgian is not ready to not wave a hand in return and not offer resistance?! No one intends to fight or confront the police, because on this side stands a law-abiding society, but the fact that someone who looks like a street guy thinks he has strength and muscles and will mess with someone is completely unimaginable in Georgia,” - Tsereteli stated.
As the representative of the “Coalition for Change” says, “Georgian Dream” is now in a very difficult situation and time is not working in their favor. In his assessment, everything now depends on endurance.
“We will endure - they will not be able to endure, because they are illegitimate; neither Georgian society nor the international community recognizes them. The only thing they can do is, as long as there is a war in Ukraine, take advantage of this war and help the evil empire of Russia,” - Vano Tsereteli stated.
